Suspicious death investigation launched after woman’s body found in Metro Vancouver

Police are investigating a suspicious death Wednesday in the Metro Vancouver community of Delta.

A brief statement from the Delta Police Department says officers were called to a field in the 6400 block of River Road following “the discovery of a fire and a deceased adult female” shortly after 6 a.m.

Investigators are still working to determine the woman’s identity and the circumstances surrounding her death.

The area is just south of the Fraser River, near the Deas Slough Bridge.
