Winnipeg police are providing more details about two assaults that happened in Osborne Village Sunday night. According to police, the incidents took place around 11:40 p.m. at a bus stop in the 100 block of Osborne Street. A man in his 40s was waiting at the bus stop, and police allege he was assaulted by a man and woman randomly. The man was punched and knocked to the ground, where he was kicked and knocked unconscious. Police said the two suspects walked to a nearby bus bench and sat down. A man in his 20s walked past them and refused to let the suspects use his phone. Police allege the man was assaulted with a broken bottle. The male suspect ran from the area, while the female suspect returned to the bus shelter where the first assault took place and fell asleep. The suspects were both arrested in the area. The first victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, while the second victim was taken to hospital in stable condition. A 32-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, both from Little Grand Rapids, have been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. They were taken into custody.
