The last jersey in the collection for the Winnipeg Jets this season has been released. The Jets, along with the other 31 teams in the league, released their Hometown Remix jersey Monday morning. Each jersey is supposed to be designed to represent the city and the fans, the NHL said. For Winnipeg, the team focused on the Northern Lights as a combo of teal and blue dance across the sleeves and logo, which all sit on a navy blue backdrop. “We wanted this jersey to reflect something that is uniquely connected to Winnipeg and Manitoba, and the Northern Lights felt like a natural choice,” said Dorian Morphy, the senior vice president of branding and chief marketing officer, in a news release. ”They’re something that makes our province so special, and we saw an opportunity to bring that to life in a unique way for our team and our fans.” The names and numbers on the jerseys also are designed to look like they are glowing, the Jets said in a news release. “Together, it pays homage to the home of the Jets, and the people who light it up,” the team said. The remix jerseys will be worn eight times this season, starting on Nov. 17 against the Ottawa Senators. The last time they will be worn is on March 25 against the Colorado Avalanche. Fans can also get their hands on the new jersey, as they are on sale online and in store.
