A man was arrested and is facing five hate crime charges following multiple complaints in September. Winnipeg police say the complaints were made on Sept. 8 about alleged displays of hate-motivated signs and symbols in the window of a home in the Polo Park area. The major crimes unit launched a hate crime investigation and identified a suspect. On the evening of Oct. 30, officers carried out a search warrant at the home and arrested a 42-year-old man. He is now facing four charges of willful promotion of hatred and a charge of willful promotion of hate symbols. The man was detained in custody and the charges are yet to be tested in court.
