The Municipality of Leamington will begin a traffic infrastructure improvement project this week that includes three new pedestrian crossovers and a new traffic signal aimed at improving safety and traffic flow across the community. The project will see new pedestrian crossovers installed at: A new traffic signal will also be installed at the intersection of Talbot Street West and Armstrong Drive. Municipal officials say the improvements are intended to enhance pedestrian safety at key crossing locations, improve accessibility and support safer travel for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. In addition to pedestrian crossover infrastructure, there will also be new crosswalk pavement markings and signage, sidewalk and accessibility upgrades, streetlight modifications, and the construction of the new signalized intersection. The project will also include roadway restoration work, including curb, sidewalk and pavement repairs where required. Residents, businesses and visitors can expect temporary traffic delays and lane restrictions during construction. The municipality said the work is expected to be completed by November, subject to weather conditions.
