Three illegal cannabis dispensaries in London have been shut down and three people are facing charges. The OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) and the London Police Service began investigating in June 2026 three unauthorized cannabis dispensaries operating under the name “Sewatohkwat.” Police said the dispensaries were operating without authorization from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario or Health Canada. On July 16, members of the PJFCET and London Police Service, assisted by the OPP Community Street Crime Unit and the OPP Contraband Tobacco Enforcement Team, used search warrants at three locations on Richmond Street, Wellington Street and Dundas Street. Investigators seized illegal cannabis, illegal cannabis products and contraband tobacco. Police estimate the value of the illegal cannabis products seized at approximately $208,000. Officers also seized $7,700 in Canadian currency alleged to be proceeds of crime. The three storefronts have been closed and are being held under interim closure orders. A 26 year old of London, a 31 year old of London, and a 40 year old from London have each been charged with: The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in London at later dates. The charges have not been proven in court.
