Mounties on Vancouver Island say two people were arrested and significant amounts of drugs and cash were seized following a three-month investigation into suspected drug trafficking. The Campbell River RCMP says officers executed a search warrant in the 500 block of South Alder Street on July 9. During the search, investigators discovered 225 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of crack cocaine, four and a half kilograms of marijuana and more than $77,000 in cash, police said in a news release Thursday. A 62-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, both from Campbell River, were arrested and released with court appearances scheduled for Oct. 5. “This is another excellent example of how our investigators are working to remove illicit drugs from the street and hold traffickers accountable,” said Const.
