An evening fire that started with a shed and tree in a backyard quickly spread to two homes. Fire crews were called to the 1400 block of Avenue B north shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday, where they found heavy smoke and flames coming from a backyard shed and tree. Crews used multiple hoses to spray the exteriors of the homes. Firefighters also worked to extinguish flames in a large tree and multiple sheds in the backyards. A search confirmed nobody was inside at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. A fire investigator is working to determine the cause, origin of the blaze, and damage estimates.
