Police say a 29-year-old man was arrested Thursday after allegedly threatening people with an axe outside a Vancouver restaurant. The incident was reported at a restaurant near Main Street and 24th Avenue, where police say the man was throwing cutlery, threatening people and smashing plates on the restaurant’s patio. Officers responded and took the suspect into custody with assistance from the Vancouver police canine unit, according to a brief statement from the Vancouver Police Department. “The suspect was taken to hospital with injuries before being released on an undertaking,” the statement said. “He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.”
