Saskatchewan RCMP say they’ve arrested a second suspect in relation to a shooting earlier this week in the northern community of Sucker River. In an update issued Friday morning, RCMP said a 34-year-old man from the La Ronge area was arrested Sept. 9 and is facing six charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm and flight from a peace officer. The charges stem from an incident reported on Sept. 7, when shots allegedly fired from a vehicle toward another vehicle in Sucker River. No injuries were reported. Officers later attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, but it fled north on Highway 102. After the vehicle was stopped, a man and woman fled into a wooded area. RCMP searched the area with the assistance of a remotely piloted aircraft system and arrested a woman, while the male suspect remained outstanding. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers seized a gun. A 36-year-old woman, also from the La Ronge area, was charged with five offences, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm and flight from a peace officer. Both of the accused appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on Sept. 10. Sucker River is located about 270 kilometres north of Prince Albert.
