A Guelph woman has been charged after an unconscious toddler was found alone in a parked vehicle. A man called 911 on June 29 around 6:20 p.m. to report a small child had been left alone inside a vehicle that was parked outside a business on Woodlawn Road West. The man said he had first seen the child approximately 10 minutes before he called, but when no one came outside during that time, he opened the car door and discovered the child was unconscious, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. The Guelph Police Service said the vehicle was not running and the windows had been left open one or two inches. The child was taken to hospital was assessment. A 45-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday and charged with failing to provide necessaries of life.
