Saskatoon police are investigating after a 9-year-old was reportedly assaulted while playing soccer in a park. On Saturday, Aug. 1, at around 7:15 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of Haverstock Crescent, where a man had reportedly assaulted a child at a playground. Officers were told three children were playing soccer when a man joined them. He then approached a 9-year-old boy, who got on his bike and attempted to ride away. The man chased him and hit him, before the child was able to escape. The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall with a larger build. He was seen wearing a green shirt and dark pants. Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
