As crews work on the Valley Line West LRT, those travelling around West Edmonton Mall can expect further detours in the area starting Friday. Traffic on 87 Avenue near 172 Street will be shifted south and access to and from the mall near 172 Street will be closed. The mall will still be accessible at 173 Street and 175 Street. Pedestrian access along 87 Avenue will be maintained on the south side of the road but some detours may be in place. Roadwork construction will occur between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. The closure is expected to last two months.
