The driver of a bus that rolled over near Sioux Lookout, Ont., in June 2025 has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm. The 23-year-old driver from Whitby has been charged in the crash, which left one passenger with life-altering injuries. The single-vehicle collision took place just before 6 p.m. local time on June 29, 2025, on Highway 516, near Foley Lake. “A total of 33 people were transported to hospital with varying injuries,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Sept. 1. “One individual was transported by air ambulance to a trauma centre with serious injuries.” After a lengthy investigation involving traffic collision specialists with the OPP, the bus driver was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.
