Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 34-year-old northern Ontario man after responding to a family dispute involving an edged weapon. Officers responded to a family disturbance at a residence on James Street in Iron Bridge on Oct. 5 at approximately 4:45 p.m. “The investigation determined that the dispute began inside the residence and continued onto the front lawn of the property, where one sibling attempted to stab another sibling with a knife,” OPP said in a news release Tuesday. At about 5 p.m., officers arrested the involved individual, who was transported to the OPP detachment in Blind River for further processing. Multiple charges As a result, the man was charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Elliot Lake on Dec. 3.
