If you’ve waited to visit the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site, you’d better hurry. Parks Canada is planning a closure of public access across Lock 43 - Swift Rapids from October 13 to November 13. The closure will begin each Monday at 9 a.m., with access across the lock station restored by 5 p.m. each Friday. The government agency says essential lock infrastructure maintenance is necessary. Cars, trucks and pedestrians will also be restricted from crossing the lock during that time. Parks Canada appreciates the public’s cooperation while the essential work is completed to maintain the safety, functionality, and long-term sustainability of the Trent–Severn Waterway.
