A memorial is growing by a Langford trail where a man’s body was found early Friday morning.
Police were called to a steep path off of Whitehorn Place around 6:45 a.m. after a jogger stumbled upon the human remains.
Left mourning in her home, a Langford mother says Dec 2 was the worst day of her life.
“I don’t want this to happen to anybody else,” Debbie Thiele-Tibeault said.
Investigators have yet to reveal how the tragedy unfolded.
On Friday, West Shore RCMP said they did not suspect any foul play.
“Due to the nature of the death and the location we’re taking all the precautionary measures to make sure we’re not leaving any elements behind,” Const. Alex Berube said.
According to the Langford mom, her son Christopher Tousignant, went to buy cigarettes Thursday night. She’s been led to believe the 33-year-old may have fallen from the path.
“They don’t know, they seen some change on the ground and they think that Chris leaned down to pick up his change and that he went head first,” she said.
Thiele-Tibeault wonders if better signage around the path could have prevented the death.
“Because like police said it was slippery, dark, wet,” Thiele-Tibeault said.
The grieving mom is now waiting for answers as police investigate.
“Everybody loved him, his friends, his whole family.”
