A 20-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle crashed with an unmarked Saskatoon police vehicle. Saskatoon police say the crash happened shortly before midnight at the intersection of Idylwyld Drive North and 24th Street East. According to police, members of the Tactical Support Unit were returning to police headquarters when their unmarked vehicle was struck by a civilian vehicle. The police vehicle was travelling through the intersection on a green light and did not have its emergency equipment activated at the time. Following an investigation, officers determined the driver of the civilian vehicle was believed to be impaired. He was arrested and charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08. No injuries were reported.
