Police in New Brunswick continue to search for a federal offender serving a sentence for manslaughter after he allegedly failed to report to a correctional centre last month. The RCMP says it received information that 28-year-old Michael Fallon was at a home on Spruce Street in Moncton on Tuesday. Officers searched the home later that day but did not find him. Police say they seized two unsecured bolt action rifles during the search. A 47-year-old Moncton man was arrested and later released from custody, pending a future court appearance. Last month, the Saint John Police Force said it was looking for Fallon after he allegedly failed to report to a correctional centre. Fallon was supposed to report to the Parrtown Community Correctional Facility – a halfway house for criminals nearing the end of their sentence – in Saint John, but police say he failed to do so. A Canada-wide warrant was then issued for Fallon on Aug. 18. for allegedly violating the conditions of his statutory release. Saint John police say Fallon is a first-time federal offender serving an eight-year, two-month and eight-day sentence for the following convictions: The RCMP describes Fallon as being about five-foot-nine and 178 pounds. He has blue eyes and blond hair. Police say he should not be approached.
