A dozen teenage girls and young women have been victimized in a string of disturbing acts linked to the same suspect, Saanich police say.

Investigators are still searching for an approximately 40-year-old suspect who they say has either exposed himself or made sexually explicit comments to women.

All have taken place since the beginning of December, with the latest incident occurring Tuesday, police said.

Most cases involve the man approaching females at bus stops in areas including the Shelbourne corridor between Cedar Hill X Road and Haultain Street, and around the Gorge Tillicum neighbourhood.

Police previously notified the public after a man approached a high school student at a stop on Dec. 3, uttering vulgarities before exposing himself and masturbating in front of her.

The suspect in each case has been described as a white, middle-aged man, 5’8” tall with an average build and a pock-marked complexion.

Saanich Police say they’re working with investigators in Victoria to help nap the suspect, and BC Transit has been notified as well.

Anyone who is approached by someone engaging in indecent behaviour is urged to call 911.

Police are also reminding young women and teens to remain attentive and aware of their surroundings.

Any victims or witnesses of the indecent acts who haven’t come forward are asked to call Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
