Members of the Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) responded to a peculiar call over the weekend - a resident trapped in mud. On Sunday, just after 1 p.m., the fire service was called to help find and remove a person stuck in the mud off Highway 60 and Valley Road. Crews, along with police officers, searched the area for the caller. Firefighters eventually found the caller waist-deep stuck in the mud, reportedly hollering for help. According to SFD, the remote area on the edge of a slough featured heavy trees and forced firefighters to use ladders and other equipment to get the caller out. The caller was freed from the mud and transferred to paramedics. The scene was turned over to the RCMP for further investigation.
