Vale Base Metals says its annual aerial seeding program begins Tuesday and continues until Oct. 16 southeast of Coniston. This initiative targets barren land in need of ecological restoration and is part of Vale’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, the company said in a news release Monday. “Since its inception in 1990, the program has successfully treated over 4,500 hectares (11,300 acres) of land,” the company said. “This year, approximately 175 hectares (430 acres) southeast of Coniston are scheduled for treatment.” “This aerial seeding program reflects our commitment to environmental restoration, with operations carefully planned to limit impact on the community,” said Quentin Smith, Specialist Engineer at Vale Base Metals. < According to the company, timelines may vary due to weather-related delays.
