More than 27,000 people cast ballots in four days of Special Advance Voting in Ottawa’s municipal election. Elections Ottawa says voters cast 8,086 ballots on Sunday, to bring the four-day total to 27,553. That’s a 45 per cent increase over the 18,876 ballots that were cast during all four days of Special Advance Voting Days in 2022. Sunday was the busiest day of special advance voting. Elections Ottawa says 6,724 people voted on Thursday, 6,854 voted on Friday, and 5,889 voted on Saturday. The François Dupuis Recreation Centre was the busiest special advance voting location. The next opportunity to vote is an advance voting day on Friday, Oct. 16. Unlike the special advance voting days, where anyone from anywhere in the city could vote at one of the 10 designated locations, advance voting on the 16th is only in your ward. Check your voter information card for a location to cast an advance ballot or visit elections.ottawa.ca. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 16. There is only one advance voting day this election. In 2022, the city held two advance voting days. Election Day is Oct. 26.
