A 31-year-old West Nipissing man faces a robbery with a weapon charge after an incident July 24. “At approximately 4:10 p.m., members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a reported robbery on King Street in West Nipissing,” police said in a news release Monday. “The investigation determined that an individual allegedly approached a pedestrian, assaulted the victim with a metal object, and stole a personal item before fleeing the area.” The victim did not require medical attention after sustaining minor injuries. The perpetrator was in bail court July 27 in North Bay.
