A 62-year-old man from Elliot Lake is dead following what provincial police called an all-terrain vehicle rollover on a gravel road north of the community on Sunday. Ontario Provincial Police said officers and paramedics were called to a remote gravel road near Camp 8 Creek Road and Highway 546 at about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 in response to the crash. “A 62-year-old male from Elliot Lake was pronounced deceased at the scene,” OPP said in a news release Tuesday. Ongoing investigation “The investigation is ongoing,” said police. According to authorities, OPP’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team and a technical collision investigator are continuing to investigate the incident under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. “A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at a later time in Sault Ste. Marie,” said OPP.
