Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the province is spending more than $935,000 for surgeries the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The funding will address rising delivery costs and delays for surgical procedures targeting those with the longest wait times, Fedeli said in a news release Monday. “This investment will allow the North Bay Regional Health Centre to continue providing critical services to those in Nipissing who need it most,” Fedeli said. “We welcome this wise and meaningful investment in care for patients living with chronic diseases and those who require surgery,” said Paul Heinrich, hospital president and CEO. More than $884,000 will be used to fund cancer surgery, systemic treatment, wait times, adult and pediatric surgery, chronic kidney disease, cardiac and stroke. Fedeli said the spending is part of the more than $1.1 billion in additional hospital funding for 2026-2027.
