Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a residential break-in after an intruder entered a home while the homeowner was inside. Police said officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at about 9:50 p.m. Sunday in the area of Waterloo Street and Hostetler Road. According to police, an unknown person forced entry through a rear window and entered the residence. The homeowner encountered the intruder, who then fled the area on foot. βOfficers attended the area and conducted a search with assistance from the Waterloo Regional Police Canine Team,β police said in a media release. βSeveral items believed to have been taken from the residence were recovered nearby. The suspect was not located.β The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
