The massive Martin Mars water bomber flew over Vancouver Island today, and the public was quick to come out and take photos of the iconic aircraft.
Owner Wayne Coulson said it could be the last time people would get a chance to see the mammoth machine above Vancouver Island as it prepares to head to a Wisconsin air show.
"We've had such great support from the various communities on the island," Coulson said. "Now we need to find a new home for it. That's the reason we're taking it to Oshkosh."
Coulson Flying Tankers provided a flyover schedule on their Facebook page.
The Mars scooped Cowichan Lake at around 11 a.m and flew over Victoria airport, the Inner Harbour, Orcas Island, Cowichan Bay and Duncan before heading back up to Chemainus/Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Parksville/Qualicum and Port Alberni.
Fans of the flying tanker were encouraged take photos and upload them on the Martin Mars Facebook page.
