A 54-year-old Duncan man is fighting for his life after he collided with a car on his motorcycle in Nanaimo early Monday morning.
It happened in the intersection of Nicol at Needham streets just before 6 a.m.
Police say the driver of a black Honda Prelude heading southbound was making a left turn onto Needham when it collided with the motorcycle.
Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to hospital by air ambulance in life-threatening condition.
The Honda driver, a 23-year-old Nanaimo man, didn’t suffer any injuries but was "emotionally distraught" following the crash, according to police.
Alcohol and drugs aren't believed to be factors.
RCMP Victim Services is providing support for all involved.
The intersection was cordoned off for four hours as Nanaimo RCMP investigated the scene, which was littered with debris from the crash.
