Fire crews have been dispatched to battle a 0.3-hectare blaze at Great Central Lake, about 30 kilometres northwest of Port Alberni.
The small fire is considered a Rank 2, meaning it’s a low vigour surface fire with visible open flames and a slow rate of spread, according to the Coastal Fire Centre.
Two initial attack crews of three people each have been deployed as well as four helicopters and an air tanker, the fire centre said.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
