Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a former seafood restaurant in Nanaimo to burst into flames early Thursday morning.
Fire officials say the Nauticals Seafood Bar and Grill on Stewart Avenue, which has stood vacant for years, was empty at the time of the blaze.
According to the city’s fire chief, the building was destroyed and one firefighter was treated for minor burns on one of his arms. He was treated in hospital and has since been released.
