VICTORIA - The Canadian Coast Guard confirms two people have been rescued after a float plane crashed between Salt Spring and Galiano islands around 2pm Monday.
The Coast Guard says the plane was taking off from Trincomali Channel when it crashed into the Salish Sea. A lifeboat rescued the pair and transported them to Salt Spring.
Injuries and the cause of the crash are unknown at this time. The plane is being towed to a nearby island.
