A group of people out for a walk on a Nanaimo beach made an unsettling discovery Tuesday.
Police say the group stumbled upon a body on Blueback Beach in the city’s north end sometime in the afternoon.
The group called 911 immediately after finding the body.
Nanaimo RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are now on scene and investigating.
Police haven’t said whether they consider the death suspicious.
