Mounties have arrested a Langford woman accused of producing more than $60,000 in counterfeit Canadian and U.S. currency.

Investigators believe the fake bills were used at businesses in Sooke, Saanich and Victoria and are urging store owners to come forward if they’ve been affected.

Deborah Lynne Thomas, 32, is charged with nine counts of uttering, using or exporting counterfeit money and will appear in court Dec. 10th, police say.

She was arrested on Wednesday when police executed a search warrant at a home on Red Alder Court in Langford.

Police said they seized the counterfeit money as well as equipment used to manufacture it.

West Shore RCMP is partnering with the U.S. Secret Service in regards to the counterfeit American bills.
