Courtenay firefighters are investigating what caused a motorhome to catch fire on the Inland Island Highway.
Fire crews were called to Highway 19, south of Piercy Road, just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
They say a man pulled over when he noticed there was a problem with his RV.
“[He] saw the flames, phoned 911 and then the RCMP came across the scene just as he was on the phone,” said fire inspector Greg Lamb.
Neither the man or his dog were injured in the incident.
The fire was contained to the back of the vehicle.
