A 65-year-old man reported missing from his Nanaimo home earlier this week has been found dead at Westwood Lake, according to RCMP.
Lionel Cayer was reported missing after he was not seen or heard from since Sunday morning.
On Wednesday afternoon, investigators found his vehicle parked at Westwood Lake, prompting Nanaimo Search and Rescue and RCMP officers to scour the area.
Cayer was found dead in a wooded area not far from where his vehicle was parked at around 5 p.m. Wednesday, RCMP confirmed.
Foul play is not suspected in his death. The BC Coroners service is currently investigating.
