The fire department and coast guard were called to Ladysmith Harbour Tuesday night for reports of a boat fire.
Officials said a houseboat secured to pilings in the harbour caught fire.
Firefighters couldn’t access the blaze so the coast guard and two auxillary vessels were called to help.
Crews said they didn’t believe anyone was on board at the time.
The fire eventually burned itself out and no other vessels were affected.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
