The rainy summer weather is set to return for parts of western Manitoba. On Friday morning, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued rainfall warnings and special weather statements for several southwestern communities where heavy rainfall is expected. According to the weather agency, the rain is forecast to continue throughout the day on Friday before tapering off overnight. ECCC adds that the communities under the rainfall warning will get between 50 and 70 millimetres of rain, while the surrounding regions will see between 20 and 50 millimetres. The weather agency warns the rain may cause travel delays, outages and property damage. Drivers are reminded to avoid flooded roads and watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
