The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is investigating a death in the city. Police originally noted in a media release Thursday afternoon that they were conducting a police operation in the 300 block of 40th Street East. In an updated release around 11:00 p.m. Thursday, PAPS says it’s now investigating a death. PAPS MCU and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate, alongside the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. An autopsy will be held, but a date hasn’t been determined. Police say updates will be provided as they become available. As of 6:30 a.m. Friday traffic restrictions remain in place, and drives are asked to avoid the area.
