The Victoria Police Department says when it comes to marijuana dispensaries, it will continue to focus its enforcement on weapons, organized crime, and preventing the sale of pot to youth.
The statement was made on the department's Twitter account after three Nanaimo dispensaries were raided yesterday morning.
Nanaimo RCMP carried out search warrants on the pot shops nearly three weeks after delivering cease-and-desist orders to ten dispensaries.
One of the raided shops, Trees Dispensary, says the police action is a misuse of public funds, and its operators vow to be back in business as soon as possible to serve the medical needs of patients.
