Homicide detectives say the fourth and final person to plead guilty to manslaughter in the killing of a 19-year-old man during a Vancouver-area home invasion has been sentenced. Rhoda Diabikulu was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to the charge in March, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. She was credited with 18 months for time already spent in pre-trial custody, leaving five and a half years to serve. Diabikulu was also handed a lifetime prohibition on possessing firearms. Ryan Nagy, of Burnaby, was killed on June 29, 2023, when four people broke into his home on 17th Avenue around 6:30 a.m. A second victim, Nagy’s girlfriend, was found injured the home but survived. Investigators said the group had planned to steal firearms belonging to Nagy’s father that were stored in a safe in the basement. Three men—Ousmane Keita, Rais Usman and Ali Shamkhi—were sentenced for their roles in the crime earlier this year. Keita was sentenced to six years in prison in June, after pleading guilty to manslaughter in March. Shamkhi pleaded guilty to manslaughter and weapons offences in October 2025 and was sentenced to a total of 10.5 years in prison earlier this year. Usman received a six-year sentence for manslaughter in April.
