Police in North Bay are investigating what they believe is an arson involving a vehicle fire on Carruthers Street on Thursday evening. Police and firefighters responded to the scene around 10 p.m. Sept. 3. Officers were told the fire may be arson. “The investigation remains in its early stages, and further details are not available at this time,” police said in a news release. A video taken by North Bay resident Jamie Brent Roy shows firefighters trying to put out a fire involving a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Police are hoping to hear from “anyone who may have information about the incident, noticed anything suspicious around the time of the incident, or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area,” the release said. Footage taken between 7 and 11 p.m. Thursday is of particular interest to investigators. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-705-472-1234.
