Two men were sent to hospital after they were stabbed at Victoria's Centennial Square Thursday night.

Police were called to the square around 10:15 p.m. for a report of a stabbing with multiple victims.

When police arrived, they found both men with non-life threatening stab wounds. The victims were taken away in stretchers.

One of the victims told investigators that he and the other victim instigated a confrontation with a third man who was in a stall in the Centennial Square washroom.

The man told police they kicked in the door of a washroom stall occupied by the third man, sparking an altercation in which they were each stabbed. The third man fled the scene and police say the second victim isn't speaking with them.

Centennial Square was behind police tape as police investigated, and a canine unit was dispatched to locate the third man, but he has not yet been found.

Police say they're looking to speak with that man as well as anyone with knowledge of the incident who hasn't yet spoken with them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
