A former employee at a Saskatoon school charged with 10 counts of assault and sexual assault involving children was not in court for his first appearance Wednesday. Hessam Aldin Sahrapour’s attendance was waived for his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court. He is represented by defence lawyer Brian Pfefferle, whose associate appeared by phone and requested an adjournment to review the evidence. Sahrapour, 41, is charged with five counts of assault and five counts of sexual assault involving children who were 10 years old at the time. The alleged incidents occurred between September 2025 and May 2026 at St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre. Sahrapour was an employee at the school. Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools has previously said that after learning of the allegations, he was immediately sent home and terminated shortly afterward. The school division has not said what capacity he worked in. Sahrapour is not in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 8.
