Whisky enthusiasts take note: Rare bottles of the most sought-after spirits will be on display in BC Liquor Stores this weekend.
The annual premium spirit release will bring in the best whisky and bourbon from around the world, including Scotland, Japan, France and England.
The BC Liquor Store on Fort Street will stock 80 new products ranging from $45 to $1,300.
"This is the biggest event in Canada that we do here in Victoria," said BC Liquor product consultant Marissa Lingwood. "We'll have a lineup. Our lineup will probably start approximately 5:30 in the morning, and we have products for everybody."
Some of those products include the highly sought-after Glen Grant 18 Scotch Whisky and at one liquor store in Vancouver, a bottle of scotch that is half-a-century old.
"Bomore Black 1964. It's a 50-year-old Scotch that's the most expensive Scotch that we have," said Lingwood. "It'll be $32,000. There's only one bottle in Canada and it's going to be in the Cambie store in Vancouver."
The event will also host a draw for a bottle of highly coveted Pappy Van Winkle Boubron.
The Fort Street store will offer tastings Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Other premium spirit releases will take place at BC Liquor Stores in Duncan, Nanaimo, Parksville and Sidney.
