Ontario Provincial Police say a 16-year-old girl died and two others were seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash in South Stormont, Ont. early Sunday morning. According to a news release from OPP, first responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision on Headline Road, north of Cornwall near County Road 19, at 3:40 a.m. Police say the 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants suffered serious injuries. They were transported to a local hospital and then airlifted by ORNGE Air to a hospital in Ottawa. Police say further information will not be released to protect the families involved. The incident is under investigation and Headline Road remains closed between County Road 19 and County Road 42.
