Flames seen shooting from window of apartment building in Halifax’s south end

Firefighters from multiple stations across Halifax Regional Municipality responded to a fire in the south end Saturday morning.

Flames could be seen shooting out of the window of an apartment building on South Park Street near Clyde Street shortly after 11 a.m.

According to Halifax Professional Fire Fighters (HPFF), crews were on scene within minutes. They were able to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading further.

“This incident required a significant response from across the municipality, with crews from multiple stations working together seamlessly to protect lives and property,” said a Facebook post from HPFF.

As of Saturday afternoon, crews remained on scene “conducting overhaul operations to ensure all remaining hot spots are extinguished.”
