In a perfect summer world, everyone would have their own personal mister just like Yelle, the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo’s newest polar bear. There are multiple misters set up for inside the Taylor Family Foundation Polar Bear Sanctuary at the zoo, which shared video Friday of Yelle chilling on a day when the temperature hit 30 degrees and the Air Quality Health Index topped 10, thanks to skies filled with wildfire smoke. Yelle can often be found spritzing under the cool spray of the zoo mister, the zoo said on social media. “You mist watch our male polar bear Yellé enjoy the habitat misters!,“ the zoo posted. “On warm days, you may see misters spraying cool water in the habitat – these are just one of the water features that helps our polar bears feel brr-illiant!"
