Crews made quick work of a large brush fire that broke out in the south end of Nanaimo Friday afternoon.
Flames broke out around 1:15 p.m., filling the air over Nanaimo with thick smoke.
When crews arrived they were met by a wall of fire, fanned by gusting winds.
Approximately two hectares of brush were scorched before a crew of 20 firefighters were able to knock down the blaze.
Three homes were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire has since been 100 per cent contained.
There's no word on what may have caused it.
