Oak Bay police say another cougar could be roaming the community after receiving multiple reports in the last few days.
There have been five separate reports of cougars since Wednesday and almost all have been in the Oak Bay area, according to police.
Two cougar sightings were reported in the south part of Oak Bay on Wednesday, followed by confirmed sightings at Camosun College and then in the 1300-block of Rockland Avenue in Victoria Friday.
Another unconfirmed sighting was reported Sunday morning, this time of a “large chunky animal” on Beach Drive.
Report of a large chunky animal in south Oak Bay at 3:20am. This is not a confirmed cougar sighting. Residents should be alert when outside.

The reports come after a cougar led a wild chase through Victoria’s James Bay neighbourhood last Monday.
The cat was eventually tranquilized and relocated, and conservation officers said they were confident it was the same cat that had devoured a deer in Oak Bay the week before.
Police are reminding residents to stay vigilant and not leave children or small pets unattended in their yards.
